inside and out, details are beginning

the time lapse photo is below, but it doesn’t show where the real progress is happening.

the details are where it’s at this week – from soffit (the underside of roof overhang)

to mechanical (the official g.c. term for a/c and heating systems)

to the really high room above the third floor – now affectionately known as ‘el nido.’

even under the house, there’s a lot going on, as the plumbers hang drain pipes from the bottom of the foundation beams.

and to break up the day, this week, as blessedly as last, has been filled with many friends coming to check us/it out.  we did lunch with no less than 4! friends today at our fave burger joint, p. terry, where relief was found for some in the conversation, and for others in………

let’s just say there was an inordinate amount of sand in every possible pocket or cuff, but in some ways it was like going to florida over the lunch hour.

problems faced today included:

how to talk on the phone in sequence to multiple people as they ring in on each other without being rude, still talking to a friend, and simultaneously listen to exclamations about properties purchased and/or improved in monopoly

how to get around a huge beam with mechanical vents and still leave the floor trusses exposed in the downstairs (didn’t solve that one)

shifting all the window and door placing back and forth on the calendar much like haggling over a bride price as i called back and forth between the involved parties

tomorrow’s a new day:  arriving on a morning truck (from guess where?) is all the roof post/rail to make the very high and as-yet unprotected balconies and patios closer to being safe.  when were they ordered?  monday.  when did they arrrive?  tuesday.  amazing.
